I'm not going to spend Christmas in England but it's as if I already am. Here, it's already christmas. We have carols is the street, christmas shops , christmas decoration, christmas cards etc...all our daily life is filled up with Christmas things.
I think it's not time yet to celebrate christmas, and at first this early christmas was getting on my nerves. People keep talking about it as though it was the only thing on their mind. Everyday they ask me what my plans are. They tell me about the christmas they're going to have and how it's going to be the best day ever. I have the feeling it is the most important day of their entire life.
Yes I was quite annoyed by this Christmas atmosphere reigning all over England,I could not understand why everybody loved Christmas and I just wanted people to stop talking about it. All of that was too much and I didn't want to think about it anymore. But after a few days I realised the only reason why i was thinking that way was because I was unhappy and jealous mainly because unlike most people I won't see my family for this day.
I suppose that makes it harder for me to deal with Christmas. But I learned that it's not people's fault if I'm far away from my family.I learned to open my eyes to this new culture and to this new way of celebrating Christmas.
Yes, we have carrols, christmas cards, christmas decoration, christmas pudding, christmas music and christmas trees. This early Christmas might be a bit " too much" but it is still very beautiful and I'm very lucky because now I know what a British Christmas looks like :)
